BME Young Mob
The BME Young Mob Project was initiated through the Broome Regional Youth & Families Council and developed by the EC-West Project Team in partnership with a Youth Resource Working Group.
The project aims to support young people in Broome to better understand the services available to them and how to access support when they need it. By using platforms and approaches that are familiar and accessible to young people, the project centres youth voice and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.
The BME Young Mob Project values lived experience, community connection and youth leadership. It creates opportunities for young people to inform, support, and guide one another, helping to strengthen awareness of local services and build confidence in seeking help.
TikTok Competition
The TikTok competition was created as a way to engage young people using a platform they already know and use. TikTok allows young people to share experiences, advice, and information in a creative and relatable way, making it easier for other young people to learn about local services, feel less alone, and understand where to get support. By centring youth voice and peer-to-peer sharing, the competition supports accessible, culturally relevant communication and helps break down barriers to seeking help.
